Ask the Question: How many?

As we mentioned last week, we have hundreds of Look-Think-Talk activities on our website and one way to find just what you’re looking for is by focusing on the central mathematical question you will ask students to think about. Each question can lead to different kinds of big ideas, and we created a series of videos that share the opportunities posing a particular question can open up.

This week, we focus on the question: How many? While this may seem like a simple counting question, there is a lot potential hidden inside, as you may have noted last week when looking at the image of doughnuts.
